He leads the Lakers with 28 points and nearly five assists a game but has struggled against Dallas. After missing two with injuries and leaving the third with a strained hamstring, this will be his first chance to go against Nowitzki for a full game. This will be an interesting strategic game because both teams are used to having a big size advantage down low as they boast seven-footers at both power forward and center. This is the measuring stick for Dallas and being at home, with Bryant’s slowed by injury, they should come out on top.

    <intro>
Las Vegas casinos won $6.86 million on Super Bowl bets this year.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board said that the win was $179,000 more than the sports books won last year, on $1.21 million more in bets.

Jay Kornegay, executive director of the race and sports book at the Las Vegas Hilton said that his sports book accepted 14 percent more wagers than it did last year, but the average bets were lower. He said that bets were hurt by the by the bad weather on the East Coast, which prevented bettors from traveling to Las Vegas to bet on the game.

Kornegay said the Hilton lost $2.6 million in part because it lost money on proposition bets that usually go the casino's way. Casinos make money offering long odds on plays that don't normally happen, like 2-point conversions and interceptions returned for a touchdown. The Saints did both of those things in this Super Bowl.

Nevada's biggest Super Bowl win in the last 10 years was in 2005, when the New England Patriots beat the Philadelphia Eagles and casinos won $15.4 million. Bettors wagered the most in 2006, when $94.5 million was bet on the Pittsburgh Steelers victory over the Seattle Seahawks.
<intro>

Betting on the Super Bowl is as much a part of the NFL Classic as the parties that accompany it. Super Bowl odds are broken down into a number of categories. They are spreads, Moneyline, over/under totals, halves, and props among others. There is no shortage of things to bet on, so study the super bowl odds and decide which team is most likely to pay you off.

The Moneyline super bowl odds simply means that you will need to choose the winner. This year’s Moneyline is New Orleans +165 and Indianapolis -200. This means that if you bet $100 on the Saints, you would win $165 and if you think the Colts will win, you will have to wager $200 to win $100.

Currently the point spread is 4 ½. If you think that the Indianapolis Colts will win by six points or more and beat the super bowl odds, take a shot on this bet. A 27-23 final score would result in the gamblers that bet the New Orleans Saints +4 ½ winning.

The over/under total for this year’s super bowl odds currently sits at 56 ½. To beat the super bowl odds on the over/under total, choose what you think the final score will be. If you bet the over and the score exceeded 56.5, you win. If you believe that the final score will not reach 56.5, bet the under and hope for the best.

Other super bowl odds that are set for betting purposes are halves, which is essentially betting on a half a game rather than on the whole game. The same concepts apply - there are over/unders and total points odds for these wagers.

Props are a unique and fun way to participate in every aspect of the Big Game. Super bowl odds are set for the coin toss, the first team to score and the first turnovers to name just a few.
</intro>

    <intro>
Nuggets vs Magic Preview

NFL betting players who played NFC games last weekend know all about home advantage, as both teams won their games. In the NBA, Denver is 16-3 at the Pepsi Center, and they’ll have another chance to protect their home court when they host Orlando on Wednesday.

Magic vs Nuggets betting- Wednesday, January 13, 10:00 PM ET

The Magic will also play Tuesday night in Sacramento, meaning that they may be a bit tired by the time they get to Denver, which is already a tough place to play due to its high altitude. The Magic are a bit banged up at forward as Matt Barnes (hand) and Vince Carter (shoulder) are both hurting, although Barnes is still playing despite his torn ligaments. The Magic had lost four straight before a win over Atlanta on Saturday, in which Barnes led the way with 18 points.

The Nuggets got Carmelo Anthony back on Monday after he missed five games with a knee injury, and the Denver star scored 24 points in a win over Minnesota. Anthony leads one of the NBA’s most potent attacks, but it’s on defense where this team’s NBA betting odds will lie. The Nuggets improved dramatically when Chauncey Billups came over from Detroit, as he imposed some discipline and experience in the lineup. The Nuggets also have a talented trio of big men in Nene, Kenyon Martin and Chris “Birdman” Andersen, who comes off the bench to lead Denver in blocked shots. But the Nuggets sometimes prefer to play a run-and-gun game with their opponents, which is risky to their online betting odds.

The Nuggets should be the favorite when it comes to this contest, given their brilliance at the Pepsi Center. As for betting tips to further help you make your pick, the Magic are 3-4 this season in the second half of back-to-back games, and their meeting with Sacramento on Tuesday will not be a walk in the park for Orlando. Denver will hope that the Kings can soften the Magic up a bit, and they’ll aim to get out to a fast start against the Magic, who can shoot themselves back into games with the three-point bomb. As good as the Nuggets are at home, it’s tough to consider betting against them. Place an internet bet on Denver on Wednesday.
</intro>

    <intro>
NBA gamblers that like to wager on Over/Under totals will enjoy this look at the best Under teams in the league heading into this weekend.

Now, many pro hoops bettors may think that the league’s best defensive teams would be the biggest Under producers around, but one look at the teams on this list will show that many of the best Under teams in the game are simply offensively-challenged teams that struggle to score the ball on a consistent basis.

This look at those ballclubs should help NBA gamblers everywhere cash in on more O/U total wagers than ever.

L.A. Clippers 13-21 O/U

The Clippers are ranked 25th in scoring and 16th in defense, hence, the high Under total. L.A. has won three consecutive games heading into Friday and four of five overall and say they want to make the playoffs this season badly. Until further notice, I say ride the Clippers while they’re hot and play the Under in the majority of their games this season.

Minnesota 14-21 O/U

The Timberwolves are an absolute mess NBA lovers and not likely to get better any time soon either. Minnesota has gone 5-5 O/U over its last 10 games.

Cleveland 15-20 O/U

The Cavaliers have the third best defense in the league at the time of this writing and shut down more people the Public Enemy’s Chuck D! Cleveland has played Under their set O/U total in five of its last seven games and will produce a ton of Under outcomes this season led by their powerful defense.

Chicago 12-20 O/U

The Disappointing Bulls are 28th in scoring, averaging a pitiful 92.3 points per game while raking 13th in defense by giving up just 97.6 points per contest. Sounds like a recipe for Under success to me!

Houston 16-20 O/U

The scrappy Rockets are a middle-of-the-pack team, both offensively and defensively, but arguably the grittiest team in the league this season. Houston has played Under their O/U total in six of the last eight games overall.

New Orleans 12-20 O/U

When the Hornets play defense, they win – it’s that simple. New Orleans has won four consecutive games while covering the spread each time out. New Orleans has played Under their O/U total in each of their last games while not giving up more than 95 points in any game.

New York 15-19 O/U

The Knicks are playing very well heading into Friday, having won three consecutive games while covering the spread each time out. New York has played Under their set O/U total in seven of the last 10 games, most likely because oddsmakers keep setting their total so high.

Denver 16-19 O/U

The Nuggets have the third-best offense in the league right now, averaging a whopping 107.3 points per game. Denver also allows 102.2 points per game defensively (21st) but keep playing Under their O/U totals because oddsmakers foolishly keep expecting them to put up 110 points in every game. Denver has played Under the O/U total in two straight games and five of its last 10 overall.

New Jersey 11-21 O/U

The Nets have played Under their O/U total in two of its last three games and four of six overall. New Jersey averages just 89.7 points per game this season and will almost assuredly produce a ton of Unders for the remainder of the regular season.
</intro>

    <intro>
If you have been a consistant sports watcher over the years, then most of you understand how point spreads work whether you gambled on games or not. Basically, to sum it up real fast, oddsmakers in Vegas sit around and decide who should be favored in each game, and by how much. Through intense statistical analysis and with the help of lengthy mathematical formulas, oddsmakers tend to be outrageously accurate, to the point where one has to question how it's physically possible to be so on point, day in and day out.

I was having a conversation with a friend of mine, who is an avid sports gambler, regarding the point spread on a particular game. The Chicago Bulls were visiting Madison Square Garden and the New York Knicks last night, with the Knicks as 6 point favorites. After the first half the Knicks were up by 22. Chicago betters have turned the TV off already and switched to Jersey Shore. As the second half progressed, the Bulls inched closer and closer, until their inevitable run in the 4th quarter cut the Knicks lead down to 1 with 2:40 on the clock. The group who bet on the Knicks thought that Vegas just sucker punched them yet again. The Knicks came out of a timeout to hit some big shots, and with a few seconds remaning, of course, the Knicks were up by 5. A meaningless foul was then committed on Chicago, to put Knicks star Danillo Gallinari on the line for 2 free throws, which he smoothly converted, and the Knicks won the game by 7, covering the spread by 1 and causing all and every indivudual who bet on the Bulls to throw their remote controls in disgust, and contemplate why they have the worst luck on the planet. (This is a weekly ritual for me)

About 65% of the betting population took the Bulls in this one, figuring that if the Knicks are favored, especially by a generous 6 points, that why not take the points in a game in which the Bulls have no right losing in the first place. But with the result ending in an 88-81 victory for NY, you wonder what the oddsmakers were saying after the final buzzer sounded. I can just picture some fat slob eating cheeto's, (puffed, not crunchy) saying, "We're good, arn't we", and sporting a half smile that represents a murderer's face after the jury decided that the homicide was really a suicide.

I've been betting on sports for about 8 years now, and just like the elevator business, it has its up and downs. After winning 2 games in a row, you really believe that you have figured out the system, you can interpret spreads, and pick winners. Which is just what those fat slobs in Vegas want you to think. And the bottom line is, those slobs are better than you. just accept it. The best sports handicappers in the world, the so-called sportsbetting experts who people give their money to to make wagers for them- the best ones have winning percentages of about 58%. That's best case scenario! If i was at the top of my class with a 58% average, you would think I was taking a class with a bunch of chimps.

Thats just it. The sports betting world, myself included, are a bunch of monkeys trying to learn and master something new. It's not about the money, most people who bet on sports don't bet because of the money, but about the rush and jolt you get when you pick a winner and get rewarded for it. You feel like "the man", the guy who can make money off being that knowledgeble sports guy. People actually come to me for sportsbetting advice, even with my winning percentage being closer to 45%. Ya know what the best advice I have for them? (and its not stop betting, thats the easy, not-fun way out). I tell them to find another sports betting companion, someone who bets consistantly, and ask them who they take in every game. Then simply, take the opposite. If they bet everyday, which plenty of people do, take the opposite of them for a week, month, or even a year. I guarentee you, that even though your sportsbetting companion may have winning days, he will NOT have winning months or years. Anytime someone tells you they have been hot lately, ask them what they were like before they were hot. Follow up, see when there hot streak ends and how long their new cold streak will last for.

There are a lot of different takes on this subject. Mine is pretty simple. Nobody wins. Don't let it become a problem financially for you either, something I have not touched upon. Charles Barkley, who has claimed to have lost over 10 million dollars sportsbetting, said it best, " It's not a problem, when you can afford it". I'll leave off with my sportsbetting motto for all of you gambling adicts out there,..."Be a winner, take the opposite of a loser".
</intro>

Brown’s football career started in the mid-80’s at Notre Dame, where the wide receiver was a two-time All-American, a Walter Camp Award winner and the 1987 Heisman Trophy winner.

Upon leaving Notre Dame, he had one of the most illustrious careers of any wide receiver in NFL history. Over 16 years in the league with the Raiders and Bucaneers, Brown was a nine-time Pro Bowler, and was also all conference six times.

He retired early in 2005, with one of the most memorable careers in league history. Upon retirement, he finished with 1094 receptions and 100 touchdown catches, both ranking him third all-time. He also finished second in career receiving yards, his 14,934 trailing only Jerry Rice. NFL insiders all agree, Brown is one of the two or three best ever to play the wide receiver position.

In joining the BetFlix video team, Brown brings you all those years of experience and a deep network of league contacts to help you make your picks.

Last week Brown correctly prognosticated the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles to win, as well as selecting the Alabama Crimson Tide to win the SEC Championship game in college football.

So if you want inside information on the best football bets and betting trends, there’s no place else to go.

Tim Brown is your man. Don’t wait, check out his picks today!
</intro>

    <intro>
The online sportsbook community has a busy weekend ahead with a UFC event, the NFL, the NBA and, of course, Florida Alabama odds. In the meantime, let's make some bets on Wednesday night NHL action.

Colorado Avalanche @ Florida Panthers
Wednesday, December 2, 7:30 p.m. ET

As much as we expect Colorado's surprising run to end, we're more than a third of the way through the NHL season now. Maybe it's time we took the Avalanche seriously. They haven't been perfect over their last 15 games or so but they haven't suffered through any extended losing streaks either. Craig Anderson continues to dazzle in goal, posting a .920 save percentage on the year and recording his third shutout of the season Monday night in Tampa Bay. Matt Duchene is showing flashes of why Colorado drafted him third overall last June and Paul Stastny is racking up points as the first-line center.

The Florida Panthers had a hot start to November but have fallen on very hard times since. They've lost five straight games and blew a big early lead against Toronto last Friday. On Monday night, after an Ilya Kovalchuk goal against them, an angry Keith Ballard tried to break his stick on the net and accidentally smashed Tomas Vokoun in the face. Vokoun ended up on a stretcher and in the hospital. Vokoun probably won't play Wednesday and Florida's morale may not be sky-high. Go with the Avs, who could give you decent value as slight road underdogs.

NHL betting pick: Avalanche

Nashville Predators @ Minnesota Wild
Wednesday, December 2, 8:00 p.m. ET

What are they putting in the water down in Music City? The Nashville Predators surprised the heck out of bettors just like their NFL picks counterparts in November, going 9-4 and amassing a seven-game winning streak over that span. The Preds are succeeding with defense first, led by Shea Weber, two-way center David Legwand and goaltender Pekka Rinne. The Preds did, however, get embarrassed 5-0 at home to Calgary on Monday night.

Though they've won two straight games, the Wild are a nice matchup for the stingy Preds. Missing injured Martin Havlat and missing NHL scoring leader/New York Ranger Marian Gaborik even more, the Wild have scored the second-fewest goals in teh NHL this season. Niklas Backstrom can only do so much in goal; the Wild abandoned a defense-first system once Jacques Lemaire left but did so without a strong offensive base. It's hard to win when you commit to an up-tempo game but don't have the firepower to do so successfully. Bet on the Predators.

NHL betting pick: Predators
<intro>
While getting some NFL betting action in on Thanksgiving, there are also some NBA odds to watch out for. The late game in TNT's weekly doubleheader takes you to Utah, where the Jazz have had uncharacteristic problems this year. They'll welcome Chicago to town, and the young Bulls are 1-3 on their Western swing so far.

Bulls vs Jazz betting - Thursday, November 26, 10:30 PM ET

Nothing has gone right for the Bulls (6-7) since a 101-87 win in Sacramento last Tuesday, as they've averaged 94.6 points in their last three, while allowing 114.0 points, including a season-high 122 in a 24-point loss at Portland on Monday. The Bulls are now 2-6 on the road, and it's their defense, which has kept them in most games, that is making the difference. Derrick Rose averaged 24.5 points in two meetings with the Jazz last year, but he'll need some help if the Bulls are going to overcome these NBA odds.

The Jazz (7-7) have lost three home games in a month for the first time since April 2007, including a 104-94 loss to Oklahoma City on Tuesday. The offense has been wildly inconsistent, but they're 5-2 when scoring 100 points. Defense is more important, though, and the Jazz are 0-6 when allowing 100 points or more. Memhet Okur had 24.5 points in two games with the Bulls last year, while Deron Williams added 19.0 points in his duels with Rose, a Chicago native who probably watched Williams with the Illinois basketball team.

NBA odds in your sportsbook should favor Utah at home, as the Bulls are just trying to get back to the East Coast. The Bulls have won three in a row over the Jazz, but they've lost seven of their last 10 in Utah. The Jazz should look to get out to an early lead to demoralize the Bulls, and they should have no problems keeping Chicago under 100 points, as the Bulls have gone over that total just once this year.

    <intro>
Ohio State Buckeyes @ Michigan Wolverines
Sports Betting Odds: Buckeyes -12

The Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines renew college football's biggest rivalry this weekend but there is more on the line for one team than the other. The Buckeyes have clinched their fate and they will play in the BCS (Rose Bowl) no matter what. They clinched their berth last week when they topped the Iowa Hawkeyes in overtime last week at home.

While the Buckeyes have secured their fate, the Wolverines have yet to do so. With one more win, the Wolverines could be bowl eligible. With one more win - a win against their most bitter rival - a trying season would be forgotten and everything would feel fresh again in the Rich Rodriguez era.

Bowl eligibility didn't seem to be in question a while ago as the Wolverines were 5-2 at one point this year. Since that time, they have lost four straight and are in danger of missing a bowl game for the secon straight year.

The Buckeyes are clearly the better team on defense but overall, this game should be evenly matched. The Wolverines have far more to play for and that should be evident as they play in front of a big crowd in the Big House this weekend.

NCAA Football Lines: Wolverines +12

TCU Horned Frogs @ Wyoming Cowboys
Sportsbook Lines: TCU -31

The TCU Horned Frogs are the highest ranked team from a non-BCS conference ever. If they keep it up, they may have a shot at the BCS title game. The Horned Frogs have been shredding everything in their path in recent weeks, including the Utah Utes on Saturday. TCU crushed the No. 16 team in the nation 55-19, which essentially means they are BCS-bound.

The Horned Frogs don't have much left on their schedule this year as they play Wyoming this week, who is a bad team, and they play New Mexico, who has yet to win a game this season. TCU should be at least a 30-point favorite in both contests.

The Horned Frogs should have absolutely no problems covering a large spread in this match in most cases, but considering they just won an emotional game, they may have a bit of a letdown. Even so, they can win this contest in their sleep.

<intro>
Floyd Mayweather Jr. is back and for the time being, he's got the title of pound-for-pound fighter in the world. He came back over the summer and dominated Juan Manuel Marquez for 12 rounds en route to a huge victory and is now waiting for the other half of his projected epic showdown. The other half is supposed to be Manny Pacquiao but there is a potential road block in the way: Miguel Cotto.

The Pacquiao Cotto odds will take place this this Saturday, November 14th in what should be the boxing event of the yea. While the Mayweather-Marquez bout was more of a technical bout, this contest will be more of a street fight. While Mayweather and Marquez are boxers that like to move around, avoid big hits and be precise with their own punches, both Pacquiao and Cotto are boxers that step into confrontation with reckless abandon. There should be plenty of firepower this Saturday and we should see nothing but fireworks.

Manny Pacquiao vs Miguel Cotto
Sportsbook odds: -275

The Pacquiao versus Cotto fight presents some interesting story lines for boxing betting fans. On one hand, you have Pacquiao, who is in his prime and who has destroyed everything in his path. On the other hand, we have Cotto, who is an up-and-comer but even that title might be premature considering he lost to Antonio Margarito and nearly lost to Joshua Clottey.

Cotto basically trains himself and that has visibly been a problem in his last couple of fights. A boxer can't train himself because you need a third party to see what is missing and what needs to be improved. For Cotto, he is making the same mistakes.

One of the most noticeable flaws in his game is that he's not consistent. In the sportsbook ratings, he's been visibly fading as his fights have progressed recently and that could be a major problem against Pacquiao. Cotto was dominating both Clottey and Margarito but as the fight wore on, he nearly lost to Clottey and did in fact lose to Margarito.

On top of that, this will be Cotto's first blockbuster event in Las Vegas, which should give Pacquiao another edge. Pacquiao has been in three such fights in the last year alone.

Pacquiao is the better fighter, he has the better trainer and he has the edge in experience. As long as Cotto doesn't catch him with a crazy punch, Pacquiao should win this fight rather easily.

Online sports betting pick: Pacquiao
</intro>

    <intro>
The sports betting focus will be the Pacquiao Cotto odds this week but the NFL will take center stage before then. The Thursday games are beginning this week and our first matchup will be the San Francisco 49ers hosting the Chicago Bears. It should be an interesting matchup between the two teams as both NFC squads are desperate for a win. Let's take a closer look at that game and also the other contest that is on it's own this week: the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns Monday Night Football game.

Chicago Bears @ San Francisco 49ers

What has happened to these two teams?

The San Francisco 49ers were 3-1 at one point this season and looked like they might be the best team in the NFC West. Now all of the sudden they have lost four straight games and five of their last six. The 49ers are struggling to find an identity as they can't figure out how to run the ball anymore.

Meanwhile, the Chicago Bears are struggling too. Quarterback Jay Cutler has done what he can but the Bears defense has been deplorable recently and their receiving corps just simply is not up to snuff.

In this matchup, go with the team that has the better quarterback.

Sportsbook Lines Pick: Bears +3

Baltimore Ravens @ Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns are coming off a bye week - does it even matter? They have become such a brutal team in the NFL this year that they may even get blacked out in local areas on a Monday Night Football game, which would be unprecedented.

The Browns are being coy about who their starting quarterback might be but against the Ravens, it probably doesn't matter.

The Ravens are clearly not an elite team in the NFL as some people has perceived them to be early in the season but they aren't one of the worst either. They will still keep it together and battle for a Wild Card spot in the playoffs but losing to the Browns is not something they will be doing this week.

Look for Joe Flacco to have a good game and for the offense to wake up after facing a very stiff Cincinnati Bengals defense last week. Considering how the Browns have been playing on offense, they may not need to score many points to get this win.

Sportsbook pick: Ravens -10.5
</intro>

Kiss And Tease……

I would be the first to admit that I was never big on teasers. Initially it was mainly due the fact that I had no idea exactly how and when to use a teaser. Even after gaining years of wagering experience, I only vaguely studied the option of teasing all from a safe distance.

Now I understand the advantage of teasing in the wagering world. Still when I am ever asked about the art of wagering I always advised the inquiries to use the Kiss method. “Keep It Simple Stupid.” It takes a lot of studying just to fully get a grasp of the sheer unpredictability of sports competition. After all-like any business venture-the way to ensure solid success is to first build a strong foundation.

There is no time limit long enough that you can spend on simply studying how teams react in match up situations and how the Vegas spread is adjusted to that match up. Understanding this correlation is priceless and will serve well for you with more complex wagering.

Personally I always believed if you truly did your homework the instillation of a tease for a lower payout would essentially become irrelevant. Then again after literally sweating till the very end of the Minnesota and Baltimore game-that I knew would be close-a little tease would have really done my blood pressure some good. Still in the end the extra money for just picking the right team always eases the anxiety.

I must say I have somehow become obsessed with the upsets that tend to emerge out of each week’s list of match ups. Week 6 of course is no different. I am drawn to one game in particular.

Have the Minnesota Vikings really been tested yet? When you look closer at the five and zero record what do you really have? Two teams you beat by two touch downs named Cleveland and Detroit? Then there was that close call win over San Francisco at home. Let’s not forget that it took a performance that even surpassed Farve’s own expectations to defeat Green Bay. That was topped off by an exaggerated scrimmage game against St. Louis.

This is a home spun recipe for an upset. So to sweeten the deal Vegas set the line at a low -3 to pull in the sheep to the slaughter house. I am sure the wagering will be heavily favoring Farve and the Vikings. I am also sure the bookies will start shopping with the cash before the first quarter is over.

Not only do I not see the Vikings covering the 3 point spread, but I see Baltimore winning this one outright. As for me my money will be placed on Baltimore. I am just hoping that Farve won’t pull out another miracle performance and I am the one who is upset!

    <intro>
College Football Betting - Big Ten Picks

Minnesota Golden Gophers @ Penn State Nittany Lions

Sportsbook:  Penn State -17.5

The Minnesota Golden Gophers have had the Lions number recently, which may come as somewhat of a surprise. The Gophers have won four of the last six meetings and nearly won another one of those games, losing slightly 28-27.

This will be a challenge for the Lions defense, who will be facing quarterback Adam Webber and wideout Eric Decker, which is the most profilic quarterback-wide receiver tandem in the Big Ten. The goal for Penn State will be to get at Webber and put him on his back, but their defense hasn't proven they can be consistently dominant this year.

The Penn State offense is so-so and really seems to go with Darryl Clark. When Clark makes plays with his arms and legs, this team is tough to beat. When he's struggling to pass and his running lanes are contained, the Penn State offense gets stuck in the mud.

The Lions have to make a trip to Ann Arbor next week so don't be surprised if they get caught looking ahead and fall behind early. But at the end of the day, Minnesota just doesn't match up. Look for Penn State to get the win.

Sports Picks: Minnesota +17.5

Iowa Hawkeyes @ Wisconsin Badgers

College Football odds: Wisconsin -2.5

The Iowa Hawkeyes, along with the Ohio State Buckeyes, are the highest ranked teams in the Big Ten but to their surprise, the Hawkeyes find themselves as an underdog this week as they head to Wisconsin. To be fair, the Badgers are a tough team to beat at home but the Hawkeyes may be the better team.

It's tough to gauge how good the Hawkeyes are. They did beat Penn State - a team that they perenially dominate - but they still exactly proven. They nearly lost at home to Michigan last week, which gives you an indication that Michigan, Wisconsin and Iowa are all about the same caliber team.

That being the case, look for the Badgers to run the ball down the Hawkeyes throats this week and get the win. The Badgers are coming off a bad loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes last week but the Badgers are a very different team on the road than they are at home. Look for them to bounce back with a much more efficient performance and get a tight win.

Sports Betting Blog Picks: Wisconsin -2.5
</intro>

    <intro>
College Football Betting

After Saturday afternoon's Texas vs Oklahoma odds, online betting players can get in on some night action when No.4 Virginia Tech heads to No.22 Georgia Tech, and the Hokies will get the inside track on the ACC Coastal with a win over a team they've dominated in recent years.

Virginia Tech vs Georgia Tech odds - Saturday, October 17, 8:00 PM ET

The Hokies (5-1, 3-0) rolled to their fifth win in a row with a 48-14 romp over Boston College, racking up 441 yards of offense while forcing three turnovers on the defensive side of the ball. Tyrod Taylor was 7-of-10 for 126 yards and a touchdown, while Ryan Williams ran for 159 yards and a score on only 18 carries. With performances like this, Virginia Tech could be a nice darkhorse pick for the BCS title game in your offshore sportsbook.

The Yellow Jackets (5-1, 3-1) showed why they are ranked fourth in the nation in rushing with 401 yards in a 49-44 shootout over Florida State, overcoming three turnovers and a defense that allowed 539 yards of offense to the Seminoles. Josh Nesbitt was only 4-of-8 for 131 yards and a touchdown, but he did his damage with his legs, running for 140 yards and three scores.

The Hokies are a 3-point favorite on the road in your

sports betting software

, and they've won four of their last five meetings against the Yellow Jackets, although last year's 20-17 win at home was a nailbiter. The Yellow Jackets committed three turnovers against the Hokies last year, and they won't be able to get away with that, especially after the Florida State game. The Hokies have looked like a brand new football team since losing to Alabama in the season opener, and Virginia Tech will have a chip on their shoulders after giving up 278 yards on the ground to the Yellow Jackets last year. Virginia Tech is the best team in the ACC, and they'll prove it on Saturday night in a televised showdown. Go with the Hokies in your

The football season has been wild and fantastic to this point but before we get to the professional games on Sunday, we should have our game of the year on Saturday night. The No. 1 Florida Gators, who have basically been the No. 1 team around since Tim Tebow and pretty much the National Championship winning team from last year decided to return for one more year. They haven't had many problems so far this season, rolling everything in their path to start but now there is some concern.

Two weeks ago, Tebow suffered a huge concussion against Kentucky and had to spend a night in the hospital. After that, it took him a full week before he could even watch TV. The good news for the Gators is that they had a bye last week but now the real action is back. The Gators now have to head to the bayou to face the No. 4 LSU Tigers, in what figures to be their biggest test in a couple of seasons. The Gators are simply not the same team when Tebow is not in the lineup and that's a real concern since he has yet to be cleared to practice. Even if he plays, how effective can he be? After all, we are talking about a quarterback who plays a very physical style of football. The Gators are still a favorite in the sportsbook but they might end up losing if Tebow can't go.

No. 1 Florida Gators @ No. 4 LSU Tigers

Florida LSU Game Preview

While the big story for this contest is Tebow, there are two other, more important lines that deserve some attention: the LSU Tigers and the Gators defense.

The Gators defense returned all 11 starters this year and they have been one of the best in the nation so far. Granted, beating Kentucky and a few other stiffs like Charleston Southern will pad the stats but this unit can play. The Tigers are no pushover but their offense will have to get the job done. The Tigers have been inconsistent both running the ball and passing it. If they can score between 15-20, that should be enough.

The Tigers are a dominant team at home on Saturday nights and this weekend should be no different.

Sports picks: LSU +8
</intro>

    <intro>
Week 5 Betting Pick Preview

Minnesota Vikings @ St. Louis Rams

Sportsbook Odds: Vikings -9.5

The Minnesota Vikings are riding high right now at 4-0 and a lot of people think that this could be the best team in the NFC. Right now, they'd have to be considered among them, especially after their impressive, emphatic win on Monday Night Football.

The Vikings disposed of the Green Bay Packers and it was more the fashion in which they did it that opened some eyes. Everyone knew that the Vikings were capable of running the ball and playing defense but with the additional threat of Brett Favre at quarterback, the Vikings now have a quarterback who can make some throws and keep opposing defenses honest.

In this particular matchup, the Vikings should get a freebie after a couple of tough weeks. The Rams are a very team right now and they may not score any points once again in this contest. In total, the Rams have scored 24 points this season.

The Vikings run defense will keep Steven Jackson in check and if he can't run, the Rams won't have much of a prayer of winning or covering.

Online racebook picks: Vikings -9.5

Oakland Raiders @ New York Giants

NFL betting line: Giants -15

The Oakland Raiders are the biggest underdog so far that we've seen in this young NFL season. Considering they are a dysfunctional disaster, it's fairly easy to understand why they are such a big underdog.

On the field, the Raiders are a mess right now. Starting quarterback, JaMarcus Russell, has a completion percentage of less than 40% and his quarterback rating just barely over 40. On top of that, running back Darren McFadden is out for 2-4 weeks with an injury. The offense is a wreck considering they have no semblance of a passing or running game.

The Raiders passing game has always been a work in progress but one thing they believed they could count on would be the running attack. In the first two quarters of the season, the Raiders had 105 rushing yards. Since then, the Raiders have just 250.

Now they head on the road to face the New York Giants, who are one of the best teams in the NFL right now. They are going to get pummeled as both the Giants offense and defense will probably score points.

NFL picks: Giants -15
</intro>

    <intro>
Week 6 SEC Preview

No. 1 Florida Gators @ No. 4 LSU Tigers

Sportsbook odds: Florida -9.5

The biggest game of the week will be the top-ranked Florida Gators going into Death Valley to face the LSU Tigers. But before we get to the big game, we have to talk about what might happen throughout the week. As we all know by now, the Gators most important player - and heart and soul of the team - Tim Tebow is dealing with a concussion and may miss this contest. As of right now, all signs point to him missing some practice time and playing on Saturday, but there are all sorts of other questions that stem from that. If he plays without practicing for two weeks, how good will he be? Will he be rusty? Will he show some ill effects?

The thing about Tebow is that the's a quarterback who plays with reckless abandon and a concussion - or at least the lingering effects of it - may be enough to limit him from being the Heisman Trophy winner he has been. The Gators are already short on weapons on offense as they are thin at wide receiver since Percy Harvin moved on to the NFL. All in all, if Tebow can't be the player that we all know he can be, the Tigers may have an opening.

The Tigers are still a 10-point underdog at home and a lot of people feel like they are a fraud. But they are good enough to win this game if Florida isn't at full strength.

Racebook Picks: LSU +9.5

No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide @ No. 20 Ole Miss Running Rebels

NFL Betting Line: Alabama -6.5

The Alabama Crimson Tide are going to be in for a dogfight this week. While the Mississippi Rebels chances at a National Championship aren't exactly down the drain just yet, they'll have to win this game if they want to get back in the mix. That being said, look for Ole Miss to play like this is their Super Bowl.

Even so, the Crimson Tide are just too good right now. The Rebels have shown what happens when they face a decent defense and Alabama has the best in the business. You can expect a tightly contested game but Nick Saban will have his boys ready for it.

Sports Betting System: Crimson Tide -6.5

    <intro>

Monday Football…MY GUESS, you ask?

If the powers that be could have been gifted with the ability of hind sight they could not have come up with a better MNF match up. This one is highly anticipated with the emotional backing of a “Remember the Titan’s” movie wrapped up in a “Invincible” the Vince Papale story.

My guess? Well glad you asked, my guess is that tonight’s showdown will certainly bring in the viewers at ESPN, if you have HD you can even see the exects counting their money in the Metrodom's "richer then you" seating area. Even those who don’t have the official NFL required 42” HD flat screen will surly tune in to this one. Yet I don’t see Farve sealing a future Disney sponsored sports movie with his performance tonight..

To my surprise Farve has done far better then I anticipated thus far. So, with me being a stats man I think tonight is prime time for the stats to even out. Am I reading this right? We are already in Week four and Bret has only one, yes one interception? Oh we know that has to come up right?

Forget what I think. When I last checked the general public was wagering heavily on Farve and Adrian Peterson to cover the Vegas 3 point spread. So much in that the public was around 64% favoring the Vikings. Well on ESPN at 8:30 ET we will all see how this dramatic showdown will turn out.

Oh..my guess? Well lets just say since most of the public is betting on Farve, and Vegas is setting the line at a small 3 point margin, then somebody’s got to lose. So if the Viking win Vegas is set back 64%. And Vegas always lose right?
